Chiropractic Care Basics

Doctors of chiropractic practice a holistic, hands-on approach to health care and general wellness.

Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills. We are trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises for our patients, as well as provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle guidance.

Our goal is to restore and optimize the health of our patients. Old injuries, accidents, allergies, and even the everyday stresses of life can have a negative impact on your health. We are here to minimize those effects and help your body to heal itself, without drugs or surgery.

Your First Visit: What to Expect

All new patients will complete a thorough health history review and comprehensive consultation with  Dr. Rick Radtke.

As a new chiropractic patient, you will receive a complete spinal exam and health screening prior to receiving any treatment. X-Rays may be taken. Your Chiropractor will complete the screening using the Pro-Adjuster, a computerized analysis and treatment tool.

New Patients: Please download print and complete the three forms listed above. Bring the completed forms with you at your first visit.

Phase 1: Relief

If you are in pain, our first objective is to help reduce your discomfort. Depending on the severity of the issue causing problems, it’s typical to need care 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective Care

During the corrective phase of chiropractic care, your muscles and connective tissues are allowed to heal more completely. This advanced healing helps to prevent further injury and pain.

The goal of corrective chiropractic care is to bring your body back to it’s best functioning level. It’s typical to need chiropractic care 4-8 times per month for 6 months or more, depending on your overall health and the severity of the health issues you’re experiencing.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body is functioning at it’s best, it’s important to maintain your health. We recommend our patients follow a maintenance plan which typically includes a chiropractic treatment 1-4 times per month. Your maintenance schedule will depend on your lifestyle and health goals.
